TrashPics Privacy Policy

TrashPics Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-06-13

Thank you for using TrashPics: Photo Cleaner. We care about your privacy and keep the app's data handling simple, local, and easy to understand. This Privacy Policy explains how TrashPics handles information when you use photo cleanup, delete review, cleanup progress, and settings features.

1. Information We Process

1.1 Photo Library Access

TrashPics needs access to your Photos library after you grant permission. This allows the app to show photos, videos, screenshots, albums, month groups, file size, capture date, favorite status, Live Photo status, and to help you mark items for deletion or keeping.

Photo data is used locally on your device for app features. We do not upload your photos, videos, thumbnails, file names, EXIF data, location data, face information, or photo contents. We do not use photo contents for ads, profiling, or model training.

1.2 Local Cleanup Records

To let you continue cleanup later, TrashPics stores the following records locally on your device:

  • Local identifiers from the system Photos library;
  • Cleanup status such as viewed, marked for deletion, kept, or skipped;
  • Progress for month, album, screenshot, recent, and random cleanup entries;
  • Local state for the delete list, undo, and review flows;
  • Confirmed deletion count and estimated storage freed;
  • Preferences such as theme mode, theme color, random count, and Live Photo autoplay.

These records are used to restore progress, sync status across cleanup entries, show pending deletion counts, and show cleanup results. You can clear local cleanup progress or reset cleanup result statistics in the app settings.

1.3 Local Usage Statistics

TrashPics records simple usage statistics on your device, such as app opens, cleanup entries, cleanup decisions, delete-list views, and successful or failed delete confirmations. These statistics stay on your device and are not uploaded to our server.

1.4 Feedback Email

If you contact us by email, your email address, message content, and attachments are processed by the email service provider and used to reply to your request, troubleshoot issues, or improve the product. Please do not send unnecessary sensitive information in feedback emails.

2. How Photo Deletion Works

Items in the TrashPics delete list are only local marks. TrashPics requests deletion through Apple's Photos framework only after you confirm deletion on the delete review page.

Deletion is handled by iOS. Deleted items usually move to Recently Deleted and may be affected by your iCloud Photos settings. TrashPics cannot bypass system confirmation and cannot permanently clear Recently Deleted for you.

3. Permissions

3.1 Photos Permission

Photos permission is used to display and organize your library. You may grant access to all photos or use iOS limited library access to select only certain items. If you revoke or limit Photos permission, some browsing, marking, preview, and deletion features may stop working.

You can change Photos permission at any time in iOS Settings, Privacy & Security, Photos.

3.2 Network Access

The current version's core cleanup features do not require an account, cloud sync, or server upload. The privacy policy link, feedback email, and external system pages may open your browser or email app, and those services may handle network requests.

4. Third-Party Services

The current version of TrashPics does not include third-party advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, third-party sign-in, or cross-app and cross-site tracking.

If a future version adds third-party services, we will update this Privacy Policy with the service names, purposes, possible information types, and privacy policy links. When required, we will also notify you through the app or release channels.

5. Sharing

We do not share your personal information with third parties except in the following cases:

  1. You give explicit consent;
  2. Disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request;
  3. Disclosure is necessary to protect your rights, our rights, or the rights of others;
  4. You actively send information to a third party through email, system sharing, or another method.

6. Your Controls

You can manage information related to TrashPics in these ways:

  1. Revoke or adjust Photos permission in iOS Settings;
  2. Clear local cleanup progress in the app settings;
  3. Reset cleanup result statistics in the app settings;
  4. Further manage deleted items in the Photos app's Recently Deleted album;
  5. Contact us with privacy questions using the email below.

Because the current version has no account system and does not upload your photos or cleanup records to our server, we usually cannot remotely access, export, or delete local data on your device. You can manage local data through the app settings, iOS permission settings, or by uninstalling the app.

7. Children

TrashPics is not designed specifically for children. If a child uses the app, they should do so with permission and guidance from a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided unnecessary personal information to us, please contact us.

8. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy due to product changes, legal requirements, or review requirements. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. If an update materially changes how data is handled, we will notify you in the app or through another appropriate channel.

9. Contact Us
